NEWLYN MALE CHOIR NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2010.

Welcome to the autumn / winter news letter, I am sorry that I have not written Before but I have not been well again this time a broken heel which now is on the mend also Clive Thomas and Jack Weedon are still not to well and we miss them as you know we are not a very big choir and we wish them well and get well soon.

In October the choir went to Exeter for the weekend, we sang at a chapel in the main street at Exeter on the Friday evening, Saturday we went to Seaton in the morning and travelled on the tram railways that is there and in the afternoon went on to Sidmouth in the evening we had a get together at the hotel which was very nice, on Sunday we called in at Plymouth on the way home an arrived back in Penzance about 4-30 pm.

Since our tip to Exeter we have sang at the Madron/Heamoor British Legion This was on armistice Sunday, on Sunday 28th of November the choir also sang at Penzance British Legion.

On Friday 3rd of December a concert was to be held at at Goldsithney chapel But this was cancelled due to the weather, Then on Sunday 5th December we were at Zenor Church which I was not able to attend not feeling well again.

This is a list of concerts up until the end of this year

  • Sunday 12th December St Peters Church Newlyn at 7-30pm
  • Sunday 19th December Queens Hotel at 8-00pm
  • Monday 20th Chypons and Newlyn British Legion at 7-00pm
  • I am sorry to say that when we have finished all our Christmas commitments, our Present Conductor John Philpotts is retiring we are sorry for this, but the good thing is Ken Northey will be taking us, until we find a new conductor.

    All it remains for me to say is have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
